Winter flowers

Undaunted by frost, rain or neighbor kids playing kickball, these hollyhocks greeted us upon our return.

Today the wind is blowing, and it's spotting rain, like it can't decide whether to actually rain or not.

For some reason I keep thinking of this poem in Fellowship of the Ring, by Tolkien:

Now let the song begin! Let us sing together
Of sun, stars, moon and mist, rain and cloudy weather,
Light on the budding leaf, dew on the feather,
Wind on the open hill, bells on the heather,
Reeds by the shady pool, lilies on the water ...

I am so glad to see that you had hollyhocks by your door to greet you. They look pretty too, and I like the poem. I hope you are having a nice day today, just getting to be at home.

I am going to leave a comment here okay? yay for marmalade. I think you already took my jars for peach. I don't think I have many small jars left. Yes, I did my posts I think on Tuesday night and then messed and had to delete so anyway it messed up my day thing.
So anyway. I did send you a letter about washing dishes but you must not have got it.
So that is why I am leaving a comment here.
Have a very nice Saturday!
